If, like me, you spent your formative years scouring the NME, Melody Maker and The Face for new music, writing and photographs of your favourite bands then you’ll be no stranger to Kevin Cummins. The sixty year old British photographer spent ten years as chief photographer on the NME and has worked for countless publications including The Times, The Observer, The Guardian, Esquire, Maxim, Elle, Vogue, Mojo and The Big Issue. His portfolio includes portraits of The Stone Roses, Bjork, The Smiths, Blondie, The Happy Mondays, Joy Division, Iggy Pop, Courtney Love, Michael Hutchence, David Bowie, the list goes on….Here he talks to 6 music about how to take a great photo
