The First Cut at the Gallery of Costume Manchester

Paper dress by Violise Lunn

The First Cut is spread over two of Manchester’s galleries, the other being the Gallery of Costume at the beautiful Platt Hall in Rusholme. My friend and I made our way up here the other week, arriving at twelve lunchtime only to find the gallery opened at one during the week. So we returned yesterday to take a look at the collection of gorgeous but ‘unwearable’ dresses crafted from paper. The one above was made by Violise Lunn.

I thought her ethereal paper dresses floating about the dining room were gorgeous.
