Peter Blake and Pop Music Exhibition

Peter Blake and Pop Music

The other week my friend and I tripped along to The Lowry, Salford Quays to take a look at the Peter Blake exhibition. The English pop artist has worked alongside some of the most influential musicians of his generation and is perhaps best known for his sleeve design of The Beatles’ Sgt Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band. More recently he has designed album sleeves for Paul Weller and Oasis. The exhibition features many of Blake’s musical heroes including Elvis and Ian Dury, plus some self portraits and the Peter Blake Jukebox. Simply tweet the Lowry with the details of your favuorite tune with #blakejukebox and hear it at the exhibition. With the advent of downloading music online I wondered if we will have such prolific and celebrated graphic designers in the future?
